Livin’ in Stitches is committed to making our website and digital quilt patterns accessible to as many people as possible.

We want everyone to be able to enjoy our quilt designs, shop our patterns, and access our content regardless of ability or technology.

We aim to follow the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA where reasonably possible and continually work to improve accessibility across our website and digital products.

In practice, this means we strive to:

  • Provide descriptive text for images whenever possible

  • Ensure our site can be navigated using a keyboard

  • Use accessible, well-structured layouts

  • Make digital quilt pattern files readable and usable with assistive technologies

Digital Quilt Patterns & Downloads

Our quilt patterns are delivered as digital files (PDFs). We make reasonable efforts to ensure these files are accessible by:

  • Using selectable text (not image-only instructions)

  • Organizing content with clear headings and sections

  • Writing instructions in a straightforward, easy-to-follow format

Some pattern diagrams and visual instructions are inherently graphical. While we may not be able to fully describe every visual element, we aim to provide clear written instructions to support understanding.

Platform & Third-Party Services

This website is built on Squarespace, which provides accessibility-friendly templates and supports many accessibility features by default.

We may also use third-party services (such as payment processors or embedded tools). While we do not control the accessibility of these services, we choose reputable providers that prioritize accessibility.

Ongoing Improvements

Accessibility is an ongoing effort. As we add new content and patterns, we continue working to improve accessibility and usability for all visitors.
